Welcome to the Escape site. Be sure to see the other sites I have at MLAV.com.

This 2005 Escape XLT Sport in Sonic Blue was leased from North Brothers Ford in Garden City,
MI on March 16, 2003. It has the trailer towing package, sunroof, and leather.

Aja always wanted an Escape and I have been working on the Ford Escape Hybrid program since
late 2001. After being in the plant (Kansas City Assembly) about a dozen times now and
seeing all of the new Escapes in the different configurations, I really wanted one.
Then I rented on in February 2004 and it was sweet. Except for:

1) The stupid column shifter that promoted engagement of the wipers when placed in park.
2) The cruise control that would slow down 5mph on downhills and go WOT on uphills and
overshoot the target speed by another 5mph.
3) Wind Noise, especially around the mirrors.

Well, Ford fixed the shifter problem with a smooth acting floor shifter. The shifter feels
very nice. Another nice thing is the turn signal stalk. It has a very smooth feel with
moderate resistance. Little things like that are what put this vehicle a somewhat
upscale level.

Dumped the Escape lease early for a 2006 Fusion SEL 4-cyl, 5-sp manual.
February 1, 2006.
